Branches is about returning to the memory of childhood, symbolised by the branches of a tree overhanging the river where I grew up.
The guitar is heavily influenced by the Flamenco 'Alegrías'.
Featuring Tristan Butler - percussion.
Lyrics
Where the branches open,
There I’m never broken,
And I know that you’ll be waiting for me there,
Close my eyes and I’ll be there.
Spread the wings of the river,
Drifting past to forever,
Safe in the dark,
Where my dreams learnt to start.
Where the branches open,
Here I’m never broken,
And I knew that you’d be waiting for me here,
Close my eyes and I’ll be there.
Leaves don’t fall in autumn,
They fly to be forgotten,
Call them willow feathers,
Tend to flock together.
Somehow you’re a part of me,
Take me back to memory,
Somehow you’re a part of me,
Take me back to memory.
[Chorus]
